The KULA Journal was launched in 2008 by Slovene Ethnological and Anthropological Association in order to establish conceptual ties between ethnology, cultural/social anthropology and other related disciplines.

The Journal publishes work and texts by students of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Ljubljana, professionals and already established academics from Slovenia and abroad. The languages of the publication are Slovene, English, Serbian, Croatian and Macedonian.


It is published biannually, every time with a special theme issue.
