The Literatura Literary Artistic Association was established in 1989 to publish the newly autonomous Literatura Magazine. In the following year the association also began publishing books.


Books

Collections published by the association since 1990 comprise: Novi pristopi ("New Approaches"), which features fresh contributions to Slovene literary theory and criticism, and philosophy of art; Prišleki ("Newcomers") brings together both aspiring and acclaimed Slovene poetry and fiction authors; Stopinje ("Footsteps") affords space to foreign short fiction in translation; and Labirinti ("Labyrinths") includes translations of such literary theory, aesthetics, and philophy of art classics as Jorge Luis Borges, Gilles Deleuze, Paul de Man, and Mikhail Bakhtin. The association has also published various short stories by Slovene authors, including Noč v Ljubljani ("A Night in Ljubljana"), a collection of stories that chronicle the historic event when James Joyce spent a night at the Ljubljana railway station.
