MOVIT, Institute for Development of Youth Mobility
Organisation units
MOVIT functions as the national agency for the EU Youth programme, which is aimed at youth organisations and other institutions active in this field and supports the development of bilateral collaborations, announcing and organising international camps, summer schools, and placements.
Youth in action
MOVIT also participates in the informal EU Platform Network, which seeks to strengthen the co-operation between young people and countries, regions, and municipalities in Europe, as well as to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of youth work and youth policy.
The focus programme Youth in Action run by the European Union and MOVIT (acknowledged by the Ministry of Education and Sport, Office for Youth, Ministry of Education and Sport and accredited by the European Commission) aims to promote European citizenship, youth participation, cultural diversity, and inclusive policy for underprivileged individuals.
Youth in Action also supports and coordinates the European Voluntary Service (EVS), a programme designed to promote the exchange of volunteer work between the residents of EU member states. Their website features an EVS partner search engine to help establish institutional frameworks for participants. Numerous Slovene institutions are accredited as sending and/or hosting organisations, including the Postojna Youth Centre, the Ptuj Centre for Cultural Activities (CID Ptuj), the Ljubljana Network of Info Points (L'MIT), the ŠKUC Info Centre, and the MISC Infopeka - Youth Information and Counselling Centre, Pekarna.
