Delo Newspaper [Labour] is a central Slovene national daily newspaper that has appeared since May 1959 with the merging of the two dailies Slovenski poročevalec and Ljudska pravica). Its average daily print run is about 61,000 issues. An evening version is available as well as a day version. According to the National Research on Readership, Delo was read in 2009 by 134,000 people each day, which gives it a 7.9 per cent daily reach.


Content

The newspaper covers all fields, from internal politics and regional news to world events, culture, sport, economy and also commentaries and reports. Every day 1-2 pages are dedicated to articles on culture, with an additional 1-2 pages called Deloskop for cultural events (exhibitions, concerts, performances, lectures) around Slovenia on that day, plus comprehensive information on recommended events. Deloskop is divided into several sections according to artistic disciplines and genre - film, theatre, books, museums, children, exhibition and lectures. Delo Newspaper also confers the Kresnik Award.

Supplements

Between Monday and Saturday Delo has several supplements: Delo FT on economy and finances, Delo Mag with analytical approach towards political and social topics on Monday, Ona, a magazine for women on Tuesday, Deloindom [Labour and Home] on Wednesday, Polet for sports and recreation on Thursday, a Weekend TV programme on Friday and on Saturday the Saturday Supplement, Goodlife, a monthly on social responsibility topics every last Saturday in a month. Delo is also the only newspaper with a Sunday edition, called Nedelo, with a supplement Open Kitchen.

International editions

Le Monde diplomatique has been published in Slovenian since 2005 and was from 2008 till 2010 included in the Delo Newspaper every second Saturday. The articles in this newspaper are dedicated to foreign policy, international relations and global issues and are written by foreign and Slovene writers as well.

Delo Publishing House collaborates also with The New York Times, which publishes an international digested weekly version, available in over 28 countries on the world. Since May 2009 Delo publishes a NYT weekly supplement in English with 5 % of the locally produced content.
