[[CodeEp]] is a cultural association established to explore fields of contemporary visual communication, electronic music and urban performance. Individuals, groups and organisations co-create and explore the outermost limits of physical, media and cyber space through 'creative socialising'. CodeEp organises a wide spectrum of events and performances with urban flavour and eclectic attitude, at times arguably crudely commercial and at other times exploratory and with delicate substance.

CodeEp is a cultural association established to explore fields of contemporary visual communication, electronic music and urban performance. Individuals, groups and organisations co-create and explore the outermost limits of physical, media and cyber space through "creative socialising". CodeEp organises a wide spectrum of events and performances with an urban flavour and an eclectic attitude, at times arguably crudely commercial and at other times exploratory and with delicate substance.

Electronic music and festivals

In various sub-genres of electronic music, CodeEp organises performances by domestic DJs and VeeJays DJ Oh'so, DJ Ros Roca (nu jazz, groove, broken, lounge, jet-set), DJ Borka, DJ Dado, Nova Viator, DJ Nu (breakbeat), Markoman, VanAlec, JahMirko and DJ Dado (drum 'n' bass). CodeEp regularly invites international performers and DJs. The online radio station Radio Nula plays quality Soul, Funk, HipHop, Drum’n’Bass handpicked by CodeEp DJs.

Since 2000 CodeEP organises the traditional Festival Pomladi (Spring Festival), a festival of music and visual arts at Tivoli Park in Ljubljana, and has also co-created several other festivals, such as Otokultivato at Vis in Croatia, the Futura Festival in Sarajevo, and projectOUT in Helsinki.

In 2009 CodeEP organised the first SONICA – Festival of Sound and Audiovisual Experimental Arts in Ljubljana's Jakopič Gallery.

Site-specific projects

CodeEP has organised a number of site-specific projects, among them, the ProstoRož project launched by a group of architects to revive the old city centre of Ljubljana, following the fashionable "revitalisation doctrine" of "urban renewal" in major world cities.

Residencies

Since May 2008 CodeEP has run the MoTA – Museum of Transitory Art programme of residencies for artists. As a museum in Space and Time, MoTA exhibits in public space in the broadest meaning seeking to revive degraded areas of the city by bringing art to those spaces that have been forgotten.

MoTA residents have included Felix Thorn who was a guest at the first SONICA Festival and Jorge Rodríguez Gerada who claimed the outer wall of a three-story former tax-administration building in Ljubljana and adorned it with a temporary portrait of a Ljubljana resident as part of his culture jamming Identities series. In November and December 2009 CodeEp hosted the intermedia artist and theoretician Nedine Kachornnamsong (Thailand/Sweden), who worked in Ljubljana on some projects in collaboration with Ljudmila - Ljubljana Digital Media Lab.
