Goethe-Institut Ljubljana collaborates with Goga Publishing House in organising 4-week residency a year that is open to applicants who live and work in Germany and are professionally engaged in the field of literature (all literary genres). The selected applicant pursue their individual literary project and hold public readings in Novo mesto and Ljubljana, thus becoming acquainted with Slovene literary scene and cultural life.
The Reading Balkans literary residence programme is a part of the project South and East reaches West - digital platform for promotion of writers in post-conflict societies, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. Goga collaborates with literary organisations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Serbia. Innovative authors dealing with contemporary topics of reconciliation and the importance of dialogue to fight nationalism and intolerance are selected via open call. 3 authors are hosted for 4 weeks in the residency in Novo mesto, where also literary events are organised in order to present their work to the local public.
As Goga Publishing House is a part of several European networks, active in exchanging authors, works, and various residency opportunities, it also actively organises the exchange of Slovene authors to other residencies across Europe, eg.Passa Porta (BE), LCB in Berlin, Ty Newydd in Wales (UK), Arts Institute (CZ), Port Cetate (RO), Estonia Writers‘ Union House (EE), PEN BIH (BA), and many others.
Culture.si offers information on Slovene cultural producers, venues, festivals and support services, all in one place. It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage. The portal and its content is owned and funded by the Ministry of Culture, funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed by Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory.
