Initially organised by the Theatre for Children and Youth (GOML) at the Španski borci Culture Centre, in 2009 the festival was taken over by the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, taking place in different locations in Ljubljana, besides the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre also the Mini Theatre, the Šentjakob Theatre and Cankarjev dom.
One of the festival’s goals is also to present the best of Slovene production to foreign theatre professionals and to maintain and develop relations with local educational institutions. The festival is thus acting as a platform for pedagogues who select contents for kindergartens and schools.
The selection of Slovene theatre productions include productions by theatres such as Mini Theatre, Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, Koper Theatre, Ptuj City Theatre, Slovene People’s Theatre (SLG) Celje, Prešeren Theatre Kranj, the Slovene Permanent Theatre of Trieste, and ŠKUC Association.
The festival has hosted numerous international theatres, such as Showtheater Holbæk from Denmark, La Baracca Theatre – Testoni Ragazzi from Bologna (IT), Thalias Kompagnons Theater from Nuernberg (DE), and Mala scena Zagreb (HR), City Theatre for the Young GKM Split (HR), Teatret Lampe from Copenhagen (DK), Det Lille Verdens Teater from Virum (DK), Little Theatre Duško Radović from Belgrade (RS), etc.
