The colony dedicated to Ive Šubic has been organised in Škofja Loka since 1997. The Škofja Loka Artists Association's members, who organise the colony, select a painting by one of the Šubic painters - Janez, Jurij or Ive Šubic -and invite artists to participate. The colony's focus in 2007 was the 'Dead Bird' oil painting. Participating artists covered all media: painting, sculpture, photography, design, comics and writing. The works were subsequently exhibited at the [[Ivan Grohar Gallery, Škofja Loka]].
