Mladinska knjiga Group owns the largest publishing house in Slovenia – Mladinska knjiga Publishing House as well as the network of about 50 Mladinska knjiga Bookstores round Slovenia. Some of them are also important venues for readings and book presentation events: in Ljubljana the most important bookstores in the city centre are the Konzorcij bookstore and Nebotičnik ("Skyscraper") bookstore; in Maribor the significant bookstores are City Bookstore at Gosposka Street, University Bookstore, Europark Bookstore and the bookstore at Partizanska Street. A bookstore called Dom knjige ("Book Home") is a significant venue in Koper-Capodistria, while literature promoting Mladinska knjiga Bookstores are located also in the city centres of Celje, Novo mesto, and Slovenj Gradec. Mladinska knjiga runs also bookstores in Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania and Macedonia.


Konzorcij Bookstore

Konzorcij is Ljubljana's largest bookstore with over 70,000 titles. Located in the centre of the town, it incorporates various departments: children's books, reference books, humanities, social and natural sciences, languages and literature. Literature and reference books are available here in various languages, and books by Slovene authors in foreign languages can also be purchased. It is also possible to order books or periodicals from abroad. Konzorcij organises various book presentations featuring guest authors and its large department for arts and culture has organised many international events. Together with other cultural institutions, it organises the annual book fairs Bologna after Bologna (children's books) and Frankfurt after Frankfurt (adult books).
