It is divided in three sections: instrumental music, choral music and historical music and dances.


Instrumental music

Instrumental music activity of JSKD combines more than 250 amateur and professional musicians, bands and orchestras. Some of participating societies are internationally known and very successful. Several events and competitions such as International Harmonica Festival, Youth Bands Competition and International Contest of Brass Bands playing in the concert SLOVENIA 2012 are organised every year. The section also has its own publishing where it is possible to buy sheet music from a web library.

Choral music

Choral music department is organising national competitions and concerts for choirs of different ages (Children Festival Brinjevka, National Competition for Children and Youth Choirs) and from different areas of Slovenia.
