The main goal of the Society is to actively participate in the work of different musicological and musical institutions. Society prepares scientific conferences, the lectures of home and foreign musicologists, prepares educational modules and public debates. It bestows also the Mantuani Award. The Society cooperates with similar associations from Europe.

Society work also as a publishing house. Its series is called Varia Musicologica and comprises of six titles. Society publishes also its own bulletin.
