The Association endeavours to influence the publishing industry via international networking and to enhance professionalism through exchange of education and experience. With the aid of the Ministry of Culture the Association has twice organised the Knjiga na Slovenskem ('Books in Slovenia') congress in Portorož. The 9th congress is taking place in May 2011 under the title Electronic Book where distinguished guests from Slovenia and abroad will be hosted.
