Arts Residency in the House of priest and poet Alojz Kocjančič was established in 2021 in the village of Kubed, approximately 19 kilometres from the city of Koper. It is managed by Koper Public Institute for Youth, Culture and Tourism and welcomes Slovenian artists from a wide range of fields such as film, literature, new media art, music, theatre, dance and visual arts.The selection is made on the basis of an annual call for applications which is open to a different field of art each year. Individual residency lasts 2 months and includes complimentary accommodation, including all operating costs related to the artist’s stay, as well as an honorarium or reimbursement for the creation of the artist’s work. The residents are obliged to take part in a minimum of two events or presentations demonstrating their work and to undertake a project that incorporates elements of Istria.
