The Database of translations of Slovenian literature is a non-profit database cataloguing translations of Slovenian literary works. It is maintained and updated by the Slovenian Book Agency and openly accessible to all users.

Contents

The Database allows users to filter translations by several criteria such as translator, author, year of translation, Slovenian publisher, target language, and country of publication. As such, it represents a useful tool for international literary publishers and agents that are seeking new literary voices from Slovenia or are unsure if a certain writer has already been translated in their language. By including both modern and historic translations it also offers an insight into the history of international reception of certain authors (Prešeren, Cankar etc.). Furthermore, it can offer an insight into the current state of Slovenian literary translation (the number of translations in a certain period, the number of translations in a specific target language and so on).
