The library of the Department of Classics at the University of Ljubljana was founded in 1919. During the Second World War a German airplane crashed into the library building, destroying its entire collection. Today the library holds more than 16,350 titles. Part of the collection comprises the scientific papers and works accumulated by the late philologist Andrej Sovrè.
In addition to the printed publications, the library also holds audio-visual and digital library material, such as maps, recording, etc. The library is subscribed to over 40 specialised journals.
