Since its inception by Piera Ravnikar, the gallery's fundamental vision has been to present intergenerational local art production on one hand and to build lasting international partnerships to exchange knowledge and experience with foreign audiences on the other. It tries to achieve this primarily through continuous presence at leading international art fairs and various exhibition exchanges.
In 2017, the gallery launched its dedicated space [R—space], later expanding with a new project space in September 2021.
