The [[ARK - Institute for Architecture and Culture]] was established in [[Established::2005]] by architect Petra Čeferin, who did her postgraduate studies in Finland. In 2006-2007 ARK organised a series of lectures at the [[Architecture Museum of Ljubljana]] under title ''Architectural Epicentres''. Luis Fernádez-Galiano, and dr. Pier Vittorio Aureli. The purpose of the conference was to determine the role of architecture in today's world and to address the question whether is in the time of global capitalism still possible to maintain critical position toward the dominating market-driven structures and practices.
