Published only in Slovenian language, the Emzin Arts Magazine is a thematic publication known for its originality, engaged and (self-)critical approach to current topics. From the very beginning Emzin has focused on the visual arts, primarily on photography, illustration and design. The magazine itself has become an exposition of various visual design concepts.

The publication first appeared in 1990 as M'ZIN, Fanzine of the Network for Metelkova, the initiative for the establishment of an independent arts centre in Ljubljana. Initially published by ŠKUC Association, it was later taken over by the Emzin Cultural Institute and professionalised.

Each issue covers a different topic, all articles published in the magazine are exclusive. Themes range from Photography to Film; the Internet; the European Month of Culture; Advertising, Propaganda, Publicity; Trivial Art, Trash, Kitsch; Body; Graphic Design; Home; Love; Journey; Identity; Women; Death; Money; Pleasure; Communication; Work; Food; Values; Fear; Humour, Possession, Control, Intelligence, Contemporary Russia; Time; and more.
