The Department of Restoration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, formally established in 1996, offers a three-year undergraduate programme in Restoration. The studies include painting and sculptural options and offer education and training for the profile of a restorer in the field of the fine arts. For graduates, two-year MA programmes in
Conservation / Restoration of paintings and polychrome plastics or Conservation / Restoration of wall paintings and stone are offered. It is also possible to pursue studies leading to an MA in Visual Arts Theory or a PhD in Fine Arts or Visual Arts Theory.
The Department of Restoration shares a library with the Department of Painting, the Department of Sculpture, and the Department of Design.
