Some of their productions to date include: full-length feature films The Fatal Telephone Call [Usodni telefon] (1987) and Remington (1988) by Damjan Kozole, The Queen of Hearts [Srčna dama] (1991) by Boris Jurjaševič, Idle Running by Janez Burger, Porno Film (2000) by Damjan Kozole, Ode to the Poet [Oda Prešernu] (2001) by Martin Srebotnjak, and Bread and Milk (2001) by Jan Cvitkovič; feature-length documentaries The Birth of Lear [Rojevanje Leara] (1993) by Damjan Kozole, Carmen (1995) by Metod Pevec, Stereotype [Stereotip] (1997) by Damjan Kozole; and the animated feature film The Socialisation of a Bull [Socializacija bika] (1998) by Zvonko Čoh and Milan Erič. Peter Musevski received several accolades for his performances in Spare Parts [Rezervni deli] and Bread and Milk. The latter film was presented at the Edinburgh and Dublin film festivals and distributed in British cinemas.
In 2003 the company produced Spare Parts by Damjan Kozole and Under Her Window [Pod njenim oknom] (2003) by Metod Pevec, which won an award at the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe) and was screened at the London Film Festival. The Ruins [Ruševine] by Janez Burger received a number of accolades at the 2004 Festival of Slovenian Film. It premièred internationally at the 2005 International Film Festival Rotterdam. In April 2005 it won the Reale Mutua Assicurazioni award at the Lecce Festival.
Labour Equals Freedom [Delo osvobaja] (2004) directed by Damjan Kozole had its world première at the American Film Institute in Washington and its European premiere at the Locarno International Film Festival, and was subsequently screened at 20 international film festivals and shows (in 2006 in Palić, Motovun, Edinburgh, and at the television festival Prix Italia) and received international awards in Sarajevo, Wiesbaden, and Valencia. Desperado Tonic (2004), a film by four young Slovene directors, was followed by a number of international co-productions.
In 2007 the company co-produced the film Reality by Dafne Jemeršić.
International co-productions
Emotion Film has a rich history of international co-productions: in 1997 it co-produced Dear Maestro [Dragi mojster], a Czech-Slovene documentary about the renowned Slovene architect Jože Plečnik directed by Pavel Koutecky, and in 2000 it co-produced the Czech feature film Loners [Samotaři] by David Ondriček. In 2003 Emotionfilm co-produced the film Red Coloured Gray Truck [Sivi kamion crvene boje], directed by Srdjan Koljević and produced by Komuna, Belgrade (Emotionfilm also distributed the film).
