The library maintains a local studies department with literature and other material on the region. It also houses a reading room, a computer room and a big hall used for all kind of cultural events such as book clubs and literary café, where talks on authors and their works, story-telling hours, philosophy lectures, exhibitions, workshops, puppet shows, and many other events are held.
Materials are made easily accessible for individuals with special needs by way of electronic magnifying lenses, audio books, and a device for optimal sound reception intended for hearing-disabled people. A lifelong learning point is located in the library as well. In cooperation with UNICEF, a safe point for children was set up in the library premises, where children in distress can find support or shelter.
