The Slovene Music Artists Association bestows the annual Betteto Award for the best original music achievements. It can be awarded to a composer, a jazz musician or a brass band.

The Award is named after a composer, opera singer, and a musical pedagogue Julij Betetto (1885-1963). His musical career was established in collaboration with Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) and at the Slovene National Theatre (SNG) Ljubljana - Opera and Ballet where he worked as a head of the opera house.
