The Consulate General of Slovenia in New York, regularly collaborates with Slovene artists who reside in New York, including Fulbright Program grantees, residents at the residential flat in Brooklyn supported by the Slovene Ministry of Culture, performing arts students (jazz, acting, etc.) and other artists living in NYC and the USA.

Some presentations and lectures have been organised in collaboration with CEC Artslink.

The consulate also distributes a monthly electronic newsletter called Kažipot with information on Slovene cultural events in the New York area, available for subscription by e-mail. Likewise, those wishing to list their Slovene cultural events or activities in the events newsletter can contact the consulate with their announcement.

East Coast Europe project

During Slovenia’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2008 the East Coast Europe (ECE) project was commissioned and produced by the Consulate General of Republic of Slovenia in New York City, with support of the EUNIC Network New York and Delegation of the European Commission, New York. The project about the perceptions of contemporary European identity and its relation to spatial practices and international politics was conceived by Katherine Carl, Srdjan Jovanović Weiss, Markus Miessen and Alenka Suhadolnik who invited leading figures in culture and politics from the two east coasts to contribute.
