The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Slovenia was opened in August 2007. The embassy provides consular, economical and cultural services. Consular affairs consist of providing information and assistance to Cyprus citizens residing in or visiting Slovenia, and visa services. These services are performed also at the Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus, also located in the centre of Ljubljana.

The embassy supports cultural cooperation between Cyprus and Slovenia. The first document related to cooperation in the field of culture, education and science was the Convention between the governments of Cyprus and Yugoslavia signed as early as 1969. The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on Cooperation in the Fields of Culture, Education and Science was signed in Ljubljana in 1999.
