Since 2003, the Faculty of Arts Bookshop [Knjigarna Filozofske fakultete], has been successfully selling the publications of the Faculty of Arts in various ways – mostly at the Faculty, through the website, where a complete catalogue of the publications of the Faculty of Arts can be found, and more widely in book stores all over Slovenia and in neighbouring countries in areas where ethnic Slovenes live.

Since 2008 the bookshop has been an independent organisational unit which co-operates with the Academic Publishing Division of the Faculty of Arts with regard to realise and organise book sales. Together with the Academic Publishing Division, it organises promotional campaigns – press conferences and fairs – with which it importantly contributes to the promotion and recognition of the scientific and pedagogical work of the staff of the Faculty of Arts.

The Bookshop is not only limited to its primary activities but is also a venue for creative meetings and various cultural events (literary events, recitals, debate clubs, exhibitions of paintings, photo exhibitions, caricatures, etc.), which have been organised throught event Word Station [Besedna postaja] . The Book Store was also the initiator of the organisation of an all-Slovene academic book fair, which was held for the first time in 2010 when Ljubljana was the World Capital of Books.
