The Slovenian Culture and Information Centre in Vienna was established by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Culture. Its purpose is to create a synergy among the Slovene institutions and organisations and the Austrian cultural institutions, producers and venues. It should become a central forum and a representative of Slovene cultural, education, and science activities in Austria as well as a catalyst of new international projects.
Specifically, the project endeavours to promote cultural programme while focusing on building a multidisciplinary approach from all study fields and art disciplines.
The the artist-in-residence programme for Slovene artists has been launched in Vienna in 2012.
