Established in 1998 by students of the University of Ljubljana, the Society for the Protection of Atheistic Feelings (DZAČ) [Društvo za zaščito ateističnih čustev] is a cultural association that 'tries to affirm various forms of critical thought, although they are "non gratae momentarily" and "actively oppose the offensive opinion that atheism is a world view which implies absence of moral and ethical values"'.
With a current membership of around 60, six of which work on the implementation of activities, DZAČ collaborates with the KUD Mreža Arts and Culture Association in managing Klub Menza pri koritu at Metelkova mesto Autonomous Cultural Zone, where it organises a regular series of musical events. It also publishes a newspaper and a film diary (Filmski vestnik) covering events in the alternative clubs of Slovenia and surrounding areas.
