The Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Slovenia promotes cooperation and bilateral political, economic and cultural relations between Slovenia and United Kingdom and provides a range of consular services.

In 1992 the British Council office was established in Slovenia as an important platform for developing intercultural exchange, focusing on arts, education, and creative economies, connecting professionals and fostering creative talent.

Cultural cooperation

The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Co-operation in the Fields of Education, Culture and Science was signed in 1994.

In 2022 that marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and the United Kingdom, the Joint statement of intent on enhancing bilateral relations between the UK and the Republic of Slovenia was signed to encourage and build on existing institutional co-operation also in the areas of science, technology, education, and culture.
