Named after France Stele, a Slovene pioneer in art history and conservation who worked in the first half of the 20th century, the Stele Award is since 1990 bestowed annual to an individual or group for their achievement in the field of conservation of the cultural heritage of Slovenia by the Slovene conservator society.
