Officially established in [[established::2005]], the activities of the [[Art Stays Cultural Association]] (Ptuj, Kidričevo) are rooted in the ambitions of young representatives of the local art scene, putting Ptuj, one of the most impressive Slovene towns of medieval and also Roman heritage, on the international map of contemporary arts. The first activities of Art Stays realised before the official establishing of the association were featured in the Tenzor Gallery located in the [[Ptuj City Theatre]], later the [[FO.VI Gallery]] was moved to a nearby Kidričevo. Since 2003 the association also regularly organises the summer festival in Ptuj, today named [[Art Stays, International Festival of Contemporary Art]].

==Activites==
Beside the festival the association today regularly organises exhibitions of local, national, and international artists in its own space [[FO.VI Gallery]] in Kidričevo. They have cooperated with galleries around Europe, for instance in 2010 with the T40 Gallery from Düsseldorf (Germany) where works of [[BridA]], [[Dušan Fišer]], [[Jernej Forbici]] and [[Marika Vicari]] were featured. Art Stays Cultural Association also visits international art fairs. 

In addition the association organises public lectures on contemporary art by Slovene and international artists. Thus Nemanja Cvijanović (HR), [[Matej Sitar]] (SI), Massimo Permuda (IT), and Marika Vicari (IT) lectured in Tenzor Gallery.  


==Residencies==

Art Stays manages also its own artist-in-residence programme that among others cooperated with the Arte Laguna Prize (Venice). After 10 year experience with short and long term artist residency programme during the [[Art Stays, International Festival of Contemporary Art]], in September 2018 the first permanent residency programme in Strnišče, near Kidričevo has been launched. Next to [[FO.VI Gallery]] large exhibition space, a fully equipped appartment with a painting/graphic studio and a wood workshop exquipment has been on disposal.
