Background
After graduating from the Department of Landscape Architecture, University of Ljubljana in 1995, Matej Kučina undertook further studies in landscape architecture and environmental planning at Utah State University in the United States. In 1996 he worked in the office of P Walker, W Johnson and Partners in Berkeley, California. In 2002 he co-founded Scapelab, a laboratory for spacial operations, with architect Marko Studen.
Projects
Bruto landscape architecture's work includes several highly visible projects at locations throughout Slovenia: outdoor areas at the BTC shopping centre in Ljubljana (2016), Orhidelia Wellness Centre in Podčetrtek (2009), the walkway to Bled Castle (2011) and the Markovec tunnel and surrounding area on the highway to Koper (2015) and the extensive renovation of Čufar Square, the main square in Jesenice (2003).
