The first Biennial was organised in November 2003 at the National Gallery of Slovenia in Ljubljana. 199 works were presented, and in an accompanying programme eminent designers Mieczyslaw Wasilewski (Posters and Drawings), Jean-Françoise Porchez (Typography Work), Bruno Monguzzi (The Naked Word) and Bo Linnemann (National Identity) gave lectures.
