== Background ==
In the field of arts and culture, prior to 2012 the [[Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia New York]] regularly collaborated with Slovene artists who reside in New York, including [[Slovene Arts & Culture Residency, New York|residents]] at the residential flat in Brooklyn supported by the Slovene [[Ministry of Culture]] and the [[Ministry of Foreign Affairs]], [[Fulbright Program]] grantees, performing arts students (jazz, acting, etc.) and other artists living in NYC and the USA. Some presentations and lectures were organised in collaboration with [[CEC Artslink]].
