The Department of Painting offers a four-year undergraduate programme with around 10-15 students graduating in Painting each year. Studies include painting, graphic art and video art (electronic digital technology, video image, video sculpture, video space, video net installations and 3D animations), aesthetics, history of fine art and history of media art. For graduates a two-year MA programme in Painting, Graphic Art, Fine Art Technology or Video is offered. It is also possible to pursue studies leading to an MASci in Visual Arts Theory or a PhDSci in Fine Arts or Visual Arts Theory. Masters study lasts two years and doctoral study four years. Postgraduate students of video collaborate with the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana. Every year several workshops and colonies are organised for students of painting (eg Velenje Artists' Colony).
