The Library of the Department of Comparative and General Linguistics was founded in 1919. Today the library houses more than 14,500 units with special collections of Hungarian and Arabian library collection and two private library collections by professors of linguistics, Bojan Čop, Silvin Košak and Magnús Pétursson. The library is subscribed to 16 foreign and Slovene professional periodical publications.
