PoEtika, an annual training and research programme in the art of film directing, was established within the Triglav Film in 2004 by Slovene film director Janez Lapajne. Its programme emphasises practice - from preparatory work with actors to the final film editing. The first PoEtika Autumn Academy of 2004 took place within the framework of the 15th Ljubljana Association of Puppeteers. Four young professional actors, all aged between 18 and 33, collaborated with an editor and a producer under the guidance of tutor Janez Lapajne, and the 10-day long intensive course resulted in creation of three short films. In the PoEtika Summer Academy of 2006, the participants created a feature film.
