The Graduate School at UNG was founded in [[established::2004]]. A year later the [[Scientific Research Centre (ZRC SAZU), Slovene Academy of Science and Arts|Scientific Research Centre (ZRC SAZU)]] joined as one of its co-founders. The institution holds several bilateral agreements for international student and academic staff exchange (ERASMUS, other partner universities in Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa).
