The institution is a publisher of Népújság (most easily translated into 'folk newspaper'). Originally developed in 1956 as a supplement to the local newspaper Pomurski vestnik, it has been published weekly (in Lendava) as an independent magazine since 1958, with an independent editorial board. Each week 2,000 copies are distributed and it currently has 1,600 subscribers. Nepujsag and its supplement IFI is co-financed by the Slovene government. Some cultural programmes are financially supported by the Slovene Ministry of Culture.
