[[Kar Češ Brass Band]] was established in 1998 at the student campus in Ljubljana. From the outset its repertoire consisted of 'whatever you want' (kar češ) genres of music, from Alpine folk music to traditional gypsy compositions, from cartoon music to metallica adaptations. The initial line-up was: Marko Obid - tuba, Sebastjan Jermol - trumpet, Erik Jermol - trumpet, Tadej Bizjak - saxophone and Alen Bogataj – drums. After one year of rehearsals they made their first public appearance on the occasion of the opening of the CMAK Club in Cerkno. Later on new members joined: Matija Pugar – percussion, Primož Podobnik – percussion, Rok Šinkovc – tuba, and Florjan – trumpet. The band has played all around Slovenia, at various parties and festivals including the [[Lace Festival, Idrija]], [[Dragon Festival, Postojna]], [[Magdalena International Festival of Creative Communication]] in Maribor, [[Ana Desetnica International Street Theatre Festival]], [[Jazz Cerkno Festival]] and [[KoupaFest]]. Their repertoire now consists mainly of New Orleans street jazz along with evergreen compositions from all the republics of the former Yugoslavia. | [[Kar Češ Brass Band]] was established in 1998 at the student campus in Ljubljana.
