Since [[established::2008]], [[Bufeto Institute]], the only professional institute in the area of the art of clown in Slovenia, annually organises the [[Klovnbuf Festival|Klovnbuf International Contemporary Clown Theatre Festival]]. The festival has thus far hosted numerous artists from Russia, France, Austria, Switzerland, Israel, UK, USA, etc. It takes place in different locations in Ljubljana (also at the [[Mladinsko Theatre]] and [[Ljubljana Castle]] and also features workshops.

In the form of a Klovnbuf Happy Caravan the performances travel also to other Slovene cities such as Piran, Murska Sobota, Kamnik, Portorož, Izola, Koper, Velenje, Slovenj Gradec, Ravne na Koroškem, Novo mesto, and Maribor.
