The service advances and prepares promotional strategy for Slovene culture in co-operation with other ministries, diplomatic-consular representatives, cultural institutions and other organisations.
The service has monitored Slovene co-operation in the Culture Programme 2007–2013 and the new Creative Europe Programme in co-operation with the appointed Cultural Contact Point Slovenia.
There are annual open calls for Slovenian freelance artists or researchers in the field of arts and culture who can compete for a one month residency in the New York, Berlin, London and Vienna studio offered on disposal by the Ministry of Culture. A special committee of experts from various disciplines evaluates applications and proposes the final selection to the Minister. The European Affairs and International Co-operation Service monitors also the programme of the Slovenian Culture and Information Centre, Vienna.
