Archived documents that date before year 1913 were recorded by Central Committee for Research and Protection of Build Monuments of Austro-Hungarian Royal Imperial Archives from Vienna. Between 1913 and 1919 records were kept by Central Committee for Protection of Monuments in Carnolia. Later on state or republic authorities of Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1919 - 1941) and Socialist Yugoslavia (1945 - 1991) were following in documenting. INDOK keeps only records on national important monuments, others are kept in regional Institutes for the protection of Cultural Heritage that were established from year 1957 until 1981.
