The Prešeren Foundation is governed by a Board representing of various artistic disciplines whose members are nominated by the government and elected in Parliament. The Foundation is responsible for the Prešeren Award (the so-called Grand Prešeren Award) and the Prešeren Foundation Awards, Slovenia's highest national awards in the field of arts.
