Mission of the institute is preservation, presentation, research, promototion and tourist marketing of cultural and natural heritage of Velike Lašče Municipality. It takes care of sustainable development, protection and permanent activity of selected important national cultural monuments: Turjak Castle and its surroundings as a seat of Auerspergs, that were historically one of the most, if not the most important noble family in Carniola Region. Trubar Homestead, Velike Lašče in Rašica was home of protestant preacher and superintendent for Slovene lands Primož Trubar (1508 – 1586) that wrote first book in Slovene language in year 1550. Premises of Trubarjevi kraji Public Institute administration, Museum on Primož Trubar and local youth organisation is also situated there.
