Juliusz Janusz, Apostolic Nuncio and Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps

The Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See in Slovenia was established in June 1992, some months after the Holy Seat (as the first state) had recognised Slovenia's independence in January 1992.

The Apostolic Nuncio of Slovenia is a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See in Slovenia. Up to 2011 the Pope has named six Nuncios of Slovenia. The Nuncio has the rank of an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and serves as the liaison between the Holy See and the Roman Catholic diocesan episcopate in Slovenia.
