Boris Balant studied art history and ran Škuc Gallery from 1986 to 1987. After the design studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, he briefly collaborated with the Novi kolektivizem design department of the Neue Slowenische Kunst collective. In 1995–2008 he worked in LUKSstudio which he established together with Lena Pislak.
