Avla NLB Gallery was established in 1971 in the entrance hall of the headquarters of the largest Slovene bank – Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB), in the city centre of Ljubljana, close to the Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre. The NLB has purchased thousands of high-quality art works which now form the Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) Art Collection, established in 1999.

Programme

Recent photography exhibitions have presented the Milčo Mančevski exhibit The Street, and the photographs of Tošo Dabac and Franco Pinna; illustration exhibitions have shown the work of Radovan Jenko, Jugoslav Vlahović, Luba Lukova, and ZEK Crew; and design exhibitions have presented a whole range of eminent authors and groups, including Luc(as) de Groot, Philippe Apeloig, Seymour Chwast, Paula Scher, April Greiman, Studio Najbrt, Niklaus Troxler, Piter Bankov and studio DesignDepot and Leonardo Sonnoli. The gallery cooperates regularly with organisations and artists in the USA, France, the Netherlands, Poland, and Italy.
