Celje Central Library is the regional library for the Savinja (River) Region. The library is housed in a 3,045 square-metre building and includes a reading room with 110 seats. The library has a collection of about 400,000 items and a registered readership of 15,800 who can use the study room, the local information department and the youth department. It has a rich collection of old materials, particularly in German. The library operates branches in Dobrna, Šmartno, Vojnik and Štore.

The regional library is a seat of the Library Association of Celje.
