Dej š'en litro (which translates as 'Gimme one more pint') Brass Band was founded by accident in Ljubljana in 1999: the first four members got together at a students' party and simply played some songs. Later, other experienced wind musicians from the Primorska region joined the group. Today the group has a total of 26 musicians, although each performance usually involves 10-15 players. Its repertoire consists of different genres of music, from Slovene folk music and the traditional music of the Balkan region to jazz, pop and disco compositions. This music is played exclusively on wind instruments and percussion; the ensemble does not need any electrical equipment for its performance and can therefore move around freely within the audience and make the spirit of the whole performance more lively and interactive. The [[Dej še'n litro Brass Band]] performs around 25 concerts all around Slovenia and Europe annually (Italy, Croatia, Ireland and France). It recently won second prize at the Festival of Ethnic Music in Guća, Serbia. It also made a guest appearance at the [[Ana Desetnica International Street Theatre Festival]] in Ljubljana and at the Cerkno Jazz Festival, part of the [[Keltika International Festival]] run by [[Jazz Cerkno Festival]]. | Dej š'en litro (which translates as 'Gimme one more pint') Brass Band was founded by accident in Ljubljana in 1999: the first four members got together at a students' party and simply played some songs.
