By signing a Joint Declaration in Venice in November 1978, representatives of provinces, regions, and republics confirmed the establishment of the [[Alps-Adriatic Working Community]]. Today the community comprises Burgenland, Carinthia, Styria (AT); Croatia; Slovenia; and Vas (HU).
